Chris comes from a military family. Her father was a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force and retired from service after many years serving his country. As part of a military family, she moved around a lot in her early life which she attributes to her fearlessness in trying new things and her ability to make fast friends.
Chris has always had a strong motivation to serve others. She spent 10 years serving on the Family Selection Committee with Habitat for Humanity (HFH) performing home visits and approving the underwriting of loans to help families become partners with HFH Mid Ohio. For the last seven plus years, Chris has worked closely to help see Families Flourish (formerly called Move to PROSPER) go from a concept to a full non-profit. Families Flourish is an initiative of OSU working to help families with school age children develop a path to accelerate their success by providing access to stable housing, better schools, life coaching and monthly programming. Chris served on the Steering Committee of Families Flourish and worked on the team to speed its entry into the non-profit world. She has continued to serve the organization in a number of roles including redesigning the financial coaching model for the partner families in the program.
Chris also serves Savvy Ladies as a super volunteer taking on the harder, long-term clients that come seeking financial guidance and coaching. In another part of her financial planning work she also works closely with Empowered Network to serve men and women seeking a path to a new life after human trafficking by working one-on-one with each client to help them develop a path to financial freedom. Chris has also worked with the Financial Empowerment Center within Jewish Family Services to training counselors and engage with clients who have more in-depth financial needs.
In addition to her extensive non-profit work, Chris has spent nearly 30 years working for Fortune 100 and Fortune 200 companies in Operations and Corporate Finance roles. Chris spent the first 12 years of her career as a Chemical Engineer progressing in roles that ultimately lead to her running a plant operation that supplied automotive coatings to ~60% of the North American automotive industry. She spent the next 16 years in financial leadership roles in corporate finance & business for both public and private companies.
As a Finance Vice President at Nationwide Insurance, Chris was responsible for corporate budgets, product pricing, and risk management. Chris was also responsible for designing, creating, and distributing life insurance solutions that help businesses fund employee benefits as well as help business owners create transition plans.
Since earning her CFP® and ChFC® certifications, Chris has been working closely with clients to help them realize their personal financial goals and develop plans to secure their financial future. It has been a dream come true for her to be able to help others achieve financial freedom and build wealth that will last for generations to come.
Chris is a graduate of the University of Dayton, earning her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. She also has a Masters of Business Administration from The Ohio State University, graduating as a Weidler scholar. She has also held FINRA series 6 and 26 registrations.
Chris currently resides in Westerville, Ohio with her husband, Tony, and their son, Vinny, who is a Sophomore at St. Charles Preparatory School.
